Nau21’s structure and organisation

Project Nau21’s visible agents are the members of Associació Nau21. Their objectives are the designing and coordination of all activities needed to launch Nau21’s site; once achieved, the most convenient juridical body will be defined for the organisation’s optimal operation.
Regarding administration, the association adopts the classic structure: a directive board constituted by a president, a vice-president, a secretary, a treasurer and a vowel; and an assembly constituted by all associated partners. However, the association’s structure is shaped as a network and therefore each node is equally important as the next and works together. This structure allows the direct participation of people and associations which, even if they don’t belong to Nau21, have connections with one or various nodes in the net, constantly improving the project with their particular points of view.

> estatuts de l'associació

For the launching of Nau21 we propose an operational model where space is used by permanent and temporal workers/artists/scientists. Both categories shall share the same degree of implication in the overall project and its milieu and will be represented at the juridical body agreed for Can Ricart through a jointly appointed person.

funding

Project Nau21 proposes a public space managed by citizens themselves. This conception could be carried out through the following financial aids:

public funding:
destined to cover basic expenses generated by the use of the building’s facilities (running water, electricity, basic equipment). Financial support could be obtained through public funding resources granted by Ayuntamiento and Generalitat de Catalunya.

self-funding:
destined to cover expenses derived from the activities carried out in situ. It would be obtained from inscription fees to workshops and formative courses programmed by Nau21; from collaborations with outside enterprises requiring services related to artistic, scientific and technological disciplines; from collaborations with different institutions for which customised agreements would be elaborated, etc.

private funding:
through economical support and diverse equipment and material resources provided by enterprises and organisations that share Nau21’s philosophy.

Regarding space rehabilitation and its prompt implementation, we propose customised agreements with several formation workshops and art-schools, so that students could perform their practical training inside the rehabilitation program of Nau21’s building.
