Nau21’s space and contents

Nau21’s space is shared, undivided. It’s defined by
transversal synergies that organise themselves around artistic,
scientific and technological disciplines.
Space distribution is delineated in three big blocks according to
the performed activities:
- working area: creation and production
A multiuse space with moving walls applicable to different projects.
Its defined by the proximate working tools it has access to, being
the worktop and the closet minimal units in these areas.
Activities performed in these zones will be related to artistic,
technical and scientific disciplines and distributed along the three
storeys of the building.
Activities and projects can be either personal or collective.
- confluence area: participation and collaboration
Participation and collaboration are two main objectives of Nau21.
For that purpose a confluence place will be defined in the kitchen
area and its adjacent attic. This particular spot is a nexus between
all locations, thus improving the transit, communication and exchange
between different areas in the building.
- exhibition and communication areas
The network-like structure of Nau21 requires constant communication
with the rest of the nodes to maintain a fluid exchange of concepts
and experiences. For that reason, a polyvalent room should be built
to hold presentations, exhibitions and screenings, being at the
same time, able to become a rehearsal room when needed.
Exhibition and communication activities also require some space
destined to documentation storage. This space could share the area
assigned for administrative tasks needed for Nau21’s proper
function.
